Last weekend we packed up the car and headed off to Old Nauvoo!! Nonna and Poppa, I mean Sister and Elder Jardine are serving their mission there. They have been gone a little over a month and we just had to be their first visitors! They are only 5 hours away...so who knows we might get to see them more than when they lived in Colorado.
On our drive we stopped for lunch where Creed would not leave this poor officer alone. He would walk slowly by his side pointing at his gun; as if the man didn't notice him 2 inched away. Finally the officer asked if Creed would like to see his police dog. I think Creed wanted to bring Vitou home with us. He is a famous dog on youtube and has jumped over cars and pulled bad guys out of moving cars. Needless to say Creed was impressed!
Surprise Nonna!
Nonna gave us a tour of the Lyon Drug Store. She even let us walk around the counter to get up close to the displays (that rule breaker Nonna).
Adorable! Tylee and Creed thought it was awesome that they had real missionary tags. They wore them all weekend.
Tylee and Mama on the carriage ride.
Creed was too interested in the mayfly that he caught on the carriage ride to look at the sites.
It was so much fun to walk around Nauvoo with Nonna and Poppa. We got the special treatment from everyone around and to no surprise everyone calls Nonna their best friend.
Cute little pioneer kids
Last week I asked Creed if he wanted to play an instrument. He said yes but asked which instrument was the loudest?!? After showing him a few videos of drums on youtube he had decided that was the instrument for him. He was so excited when he got to play this drum.
Thankfully we didn't do the rope making until the last day...from that time forth everyone was a cow, lassoed and tied to the nearest post.
Thank you Nonna and Poppa for letting us come visit. We love you and are so proud of your sacrifice to serve. Thank you!
